Fillies use fourth quarter rally to down Floydada for Bi-district title

The Olton Fillies’ varsity basketball team grinded out a, 47-44, victory over the Floydada Lady Winds on Monday to claim their second consecutive Bi-district trophy.

It was a tight game early-on, with Floydada holding on to a onepoint advantage, 10-9, at the end of quarter number one. Olton would rally back to outscore the Lady Wind, 14-10, in the second frame to take a, 23-20, lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Floydada would bounce back, outscoring the Fillies, 14-6, in the third quarter to regain the lead, 34-29, going into the final quarter of play. But, in the fourth quarter, Olton would outscore Floydada, 18-10, to take the contest, 47-44.

Kylee Noack led the team in scoring with 17 points, while Makenly Smith and Annalise Ramage each chipped in eight points and Olivia Cox and Shaylee Leathers each finished with seven points.

The Fillies will play Gruver on Thursday at Amarillo Caprock High School for the Area Trophy.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
