The Olton Fillies’ varsity basketball team rallied back from a sixpoint halftime deficit to take down the Sudan Nettes on the road, 5146, to sweep the season series.
With the win, the Fillies improve to 22-8 overall, 7-2, in district play, while the Nettes fall to 18-12 overall, 5-4 in district play.
Sudan jumped out to an early, 11-8, lead in the first quarter and outscored the Fillies, 13-10, in the second frame to take a, 24-18, lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Fillies would come storming back, as they outscored the Nettes, 14-10, in the third quarter slicing the lead to 34-32, going into the final quarter of play. In the final frame, Olton would outscore Sudan, 19-12, to complete the comeback, taking the contest, 51--46.
Sudan was led by Addison Cornelius, who tallied 12 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and one assist, while Kaileigh Greenwalt chipped in 11 points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist and Lexi Jennings contributed nine points, four rebounds and one steal. Edette Herera tallied six points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Haylee Toscano chipped in four points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds, and Emry Humphreys added two points, six rebounds and one steal. Erica Herrera finished with two points, four rebounds and one assist.
The Fillies were led by Kambri Ruiz, who finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, three steals and one assist, while Taryn Smith chipped in 13 points, three rebounds and two steals, and Analise Ramage contributed 12 points, nine rebounds, four assists and one steal. Mariana Gallegos tallied five points, two rebounds and two steals, while Kaleigh Geldenhuys added two points and 10 rebounds and Kaybree Ramon finished with two points, three steals and three rebounds.
The Nettes wrapped up their regular season on the road at Hale Center on Tuesday, while the Fillies were at home against Farwell to close out their regular season. Results were not available at press time.
