The Olton Fillies’ varsity volleyball team lost a five-set thriller on Halloween night, 2-3, to the West Texas Comanches.
The teams battled through set one, with Olton scoring the final six points of the set to take set one, 25-19.
In set two, West Texas jumped out to a, 0-4, lead before the Fillies went on an, 11-2, scoring run to put them in front, 11-6. The teams went back and fourth until the set was tied, 20-20. West Texas would go on to close out set two on a, 51, scoring run to take the set 2125, tying the match, 1-1.
Set three belonged to the Comanches, as they went up, 209, before closing out the set, 1625, putting them in front, 1-2, in the match.
Set four proved to be a tight set, after West Texas jumped out to a, 2-6, lead. The Fillies would tie the set eight different times until the score was, 22-22. Olton would score the final three points of the set, to even the match with a, 2522, victory in set three to force a tie-breaking fifth set.
The teams went back-and-forth early-on with the score tied, 6-6, but West Texas went on a, 9-1 scoring run to take set five, 7-15, and the match, 2-3.
