The Anton Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team, dropped their district match-up with Whitharral on Tuesday, 69-40.
The Panthers outscored the Bulldogs, 16-12, in the opening quarter and, 16-5, in the second frame to take a, 32-17, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Anton netted 11 points in the third quarter, but trailed the Panthers, 49-28, going into the fourth quarter. In the final quarter, Whitharral outscored the Bulldogs, 20-12, to take the contest, 69-40.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Gavin Martinez and Jose Avalos, who each netted 12 points, and Joseph Whillock, who finished with 10 points. Gage Garcia also added six points in the contest.
