The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team opened the season on November 8th with a, 5418, victory over the Loop Lady Horns.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs are 1-0 overall on the season.
The Lady Bulldogs got off to a quick start with a 16-point first quarter, behind 11 points from Nevaeh Esquibel, to take a, 16-5, lead into quarter number two.
In the second frame, they were outscored, 6-4, trimming their lead to, 20-11, going into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, Esquibel tallied 122 points and Keeiona Shed chipped in seven points, to help push the Lady Bulldogs’ lead to, 41-12, going into the final quarter of play.
In the final frame, Amherst outscored Loop, 13-6, to take the contest, 54-18.
