The Olton Mustangs’ picked up a big win this week over the Floydada Whirlwinds, that began Tuesday afternoon and finished Wednesday afternoon with the Mustangs taking the contest in eight inning, 16-15.
Play was suspended Tuesday afternoon with the score tied 1515, after they ran out of daylight in Olton. Play picked back up on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Logan Lassiter pitched 2.2 innings for the Mustangs giving up 12 runs and two walks, while earning three strikeouts. Alan Vasquez pitched 3.1 innings for Olton earning six strikeouts, while giving up seven walks and three runs, and Brody Langford pitched two in-nings for Olton giving up one walk, while earning five strike outs.
At the plate, the Mustangs totaled 14 RBI’s on 11 hits. Jacob Marquez was three-for-four with three singles and three RBI’s. He was also hit by a pitch. Lassiter, Cole Montgomery, Langford, Vasquez and Fabian Gutierrez each accounted for two RBI’s.
