The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Morton Maidens on Friday, 60-27, in Amherst.
The Maidens outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 12-6, in the first quarter, and, 17-6, in the second frame to take a, 29-12, lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to fight in the second half, outscoring the Maidens, 9-8, in the third quarter, but Morton poured in 25 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 60-27.
The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Nevaeh Esquibel, who tallied 17 points. Keeiona Shed and America Pahceco each finished with four points, while Dennys Reyes added two points in the contest.
