Nettes take down Borden County on the road, 58-51

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team defeated Borden County on the road Tuesday night, 58-51.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 4-6 overall on the season.

Sudan jumped out to a, 14-10, lead in the first quarter and outscored Borden County, 7-3, in the second frame to take a, 21-13, lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Sudan poured in 17 points in the third quarter and 20 points in the fourth to claim the victory, 58-51, despite a 25-point fourth quarter from Borden County.

Gracyn Shultz led the team with 18 points, eight rebounds, four steals and one assist, while Stevi Lockhart tallied 18 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Braelyn Pointer tallied seven points, five rebounds and three assists, while Elaine Martinez chipped in six points, four rebounds and one assist.

Blessy Montes contributed five points and two rebounds, while Melo Rodriguez tallied four points, one rebound, one assist and one steal. Edette Herrera and Kambry Tolbert each picked up a steal, while Brianna Sanchez tallied one rebound and Landree Gonzales finished with five rebounds, two steals and one block.

The Nettes were at the O.W. Follis Tournament in Lamesa this weekend. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Dec. 6th with a home game against the Muleshoe Lady Mules.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
