Nettes rally past LChS, 59-57
The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team rallied past the Lubbock Christian Lady Eagles on Tuesday evening, 59-57, on the road.
With the win, the Nettes improve to 3-6 overall on the season.
It was a tight game early-on with Sudan clinging to a one-point lead, 15-14, heading into the second frame. In quarter number two, the Lady Eagles were able to pull away, taking a, 27-24, lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, Lubbock Christian outscored the Nettes, 16-14, to take a, 43-38, lead into the final quarter, but in the fourth quarter, the Nettes rallied back, pouring in 21 points to take the contest, 59-57.
Stevi Lockhart led the Nettes in scoring with 23 points, to go along with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal. Gracyn Shultz tallied nine points, four rebounds and four steals, while Braelyn Pointer chipped in nine points, three rebounds, three assists and one block.
Landree Gonzales contributed eight points, five assists, three rebounds and one steal, while Blessy Montes contributed five points, one rebound and one steal. Elaine Martinez tallied three points, six rebounds, three steals and one assist, while Kambry Tolbert contributed two points, two rebounds and one steal.
Melo Rodriguez added three rebounds, one assist and one steal, while Edette Herrera finished with three rebound and one assist.
The Nettes will be back in action on Tuesday night, as they travel to Borden County.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
