The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team competed at the Randall High School Willcoxson Classic on Saturday, where they fell to the Canadian Lady Cats, 41-38.
With the loss, the Nettes fall to 1-2 overall on the season.
Canadian clung to a one-point lead through one quarter of play, 10-9, but the Nettes outscored the Lady Cats, 10-6, in the second frame to take a, 1916, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Canadian, though, came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Nettes, 9-5 in the third quarter and, 1914, in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 41-38.
Stevi Lockhart led the Nettes with 15 points, to go along with four rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Gracyn Shultz tallied 10 points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists, and Melo Rodriguez contributed five points, four rebounds and one steal.
Edette Herrera notched three points and three rebounds, while Braelyn Pointer chipped in three points, three rebounds and one assist. Blessy Montes added two points, one rebound and one steal, while Landree Gonzales contributed two rebounds, two assists and one block, Kambry Tolbert added five rebounds and one steal and Elaine Martinez finished with four rebounds and one assist.
The Nettes will be at Lubbock Christian on Tuesday Nov. 22nd to take on the Lady Eagles.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
