The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team edged out Kress on Tuesday, 37-31.
With the win, the Lady Wolverines improve to 14-7 overall, 5-0 in district play.
The Lady Wolverines outscored the Lady Roos, 14-10, in the opening quarter and added 11 points in the second frame to take a, 25-16, lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter the Lady Wolverines edged out Kress, 9-8, but the Lady Roos outscored Springlake-Earth, 7-3, in the final quarter of play, however the Lady Wolverines prevailed, 37-31. Sayler Beerwinkle led the team
Sayler Beerwinkle led the team in scoring with 17 points, while Halee Toscano chipped in nine points and Taytum Goodman tallied five points. Mahalia Delgado contributed three points, while Sydney Furr added two points and Emma Samaron finished with one point.
The Lady Wolverines were at Amherst on Friday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season next Friday with a road game at Cotton Center.
