The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team opened district play on Friday with a, 67-22, victory over the Seagraves Lady Eagles.
With the win, the Nettes improve to 14-10 overall, 1-0 in district play.
The Nettes took a commanding, 20-8, lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They added 17 points in the second frame to stretch the lead to, 37-11, going into the locker room at halftime.
In the second half, the Nettes outscored their opponents, 15-4, and 15-7, to take the contest, 67-22.
Stevi Lockhart tallied 15 points, nine steals, six assists, five rebounds and one block to lead the team. Gracyn Shultz added 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block, while Riley Edens tallied 14 points, six rebounds and one steal.
Liz Sital notched nine points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Landree Gonzales chipped in five points, two steals, two blocks and one rebound and Elaine Martinez contributed four points, three rebounds and two steals.
Sydney Cornelius tallied three points, six rebounds, three steals and one assist, while Kambry Tolbert added two points, three rebounds and two steals and Braelyn Pointer finished with one point, four steals, three rebounds and three assists.
The Nettes hosted Plains for a district match-up on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday with a non-district match against Olton.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
