Tommy Ray Kirk

Tommy Ray Kirk, age 87, of Bula, Texas, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 14,2026, at home following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was bom on August 7, 1939, in Littlefield, Texas, to Oren Alvin and Lola M. Willis Kirk.
He graduated from Littlefield High School in 1957. In 1959, he met the love of his life, Judy Young, at Daily Queen. They were married at Bula in 1960. Tommy -------------------------------------------- served in the U. S. Army from 1962 to 1963 and was stationed in Dachau, Germany, where Judy was able to join him. Following his discharge, he and Judy returned to Texas to start a family. They had two children, Jennifer and Brandon.
Tommy was a hard worker and a good provider. He made a living farming and managed to put both kids through college. Tommy was a true “Gentle Man”, that had a lot of patience and a great sense of humor. Tommy loved his Lord, his family, and people in general. It was often said that he never met a stranger as he enjoyed visiting with everyone. He was a great prayer warrior and intercessor. He and Judy were youth sponsors at the Bula Methodist Church and the Littlefield Methodist Church. Tommy also served on the board at both churches. Tommy served on the board of directors for the Bailey County Electric Coop for 27 years as well as the Federal Land Bank for several years.
Tommy loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved fly fishing in particular and taught many people how to fish. When their children were growing up, the family also enjoyed snow skiing.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Oren Alvin Kirk, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Avilene Spencer Kirk.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Judy; his daughter, Jennifer Frazier of Nevada, Texas; son, Brandon of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Juana Young, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and nephews, Lonnie Kirk and Ronnie Kirk, both of Lubbock; along with numerous cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24,2026, at the Littlefield Methodist Church. The family will receive friends after the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations be made to Littlefield Methodist Church at 700 West 14th Street, Littlefield, Texas 79339, or a charity of choice.
