The Olton Mustang and Fillie JV and varsity cross country teams competed at the Canyon Eagle six-mile relay last Saturday, as their 2026 season got underway.
In the varsity boy’s 1A-3A six-mile relay, the Mustangs’ team of Santiago Jimenez, Casimiro Villareal, Joshua Seaton and Dyllan Amaya finished eighth overall with a time of 36:32.48 In the varsity boy’s 1A6A individual race, Jayden Vega placed 10th overall with a time of 9:38.52.
In the varsity girl’s 1A-6A individual race, Gabriella Reyes finished sixth overall, clocking a time of 10:43.
In the JV Girl’s individual race, Alicia Florentino, placed first, clocking a time of 11:46, while Ella Azam finished 13th overall with a time of 13:02, and Milagros Guerrero finished 19th with a time of 13:17.
In the JV boy’s six-mile relay, the team of Alex Avendano, Ezra Montemayor, Joseph Morphis and Joshua Jalomo, finished fourth overall with a time of 37:56.54.
