The Sudan Nettes’ varsity softball team celebrated senior night on Tuesday with a, 20-0, victory over the Olton Fillies.
With the win, the Nettes improve to 4-4 in district play.
Danielle Mitchell pitched 2.2 innings for the Nettes, giving up two walks, while earning five strikeouts. Kalissa Harris pitched 0.1 innings, earning one strike out.
For the Fillies, Bryleigh Hall pitched two innings, giving up 10 hits, 13 walks and 20 earned runs, while striking out four batters.
The game was deadlocked at 0-0, after one inning, but in the home-half of the second inning, the Nettes exploded for 20 runs, before holding Olton scoreless in the top of the third to take the run-rule victory on Senior Night.
At the plate, the Nettes totaled 10 hits and 13 walks, led by Lillianna Sanchez, who posted two hits, including a triple, one walk and four RBI’s. Kalissa Harris added a double, two walks and two RBI’s, while Kynleigh Green added two hits, including a double, one walk and two RBI’s, and Scarlett Pool tallied a double, two walks and two RBI’s.
Reyna Limon added two hits, a walk and an RBI, while Andrea Williams tallied one hit, two walks and two RBI’s, and Daniella Ramirez added two walks and an RBI. Mitchell added a hit and a walk, while Maya Williams drew one walk in the contest.
For the Fillies, Gamez and Reese each drew a walk in the contest.
The Sudan Nettes were at Olton on Friday to take on the Fillies for their second meeting of district play. Results were not available at press time. They will close out the regular season on Tuesday with a road game against New Deal.
First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
