LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

To the Editor,

I would like to thank the citizens of House District 88 for your votes and for the honor of being in your presence during this race for State Representative. It has been a true joy to meet so many of you, and I am proud to now call many of you friends.

Over the past six months, I traveled more than 30,000 miles across this district and met countless hardworking, faithful Texans. One of the greatest honors of this campaign was the number of people who prayed for me and for our team. I will never take that lightly.

The John Browning for Texas campaign stayed focused. We presented the voting record of the current representative and will continue to do so. We made a conscious decision to stay out of the mud and stand on higher ground, guided by Proverbs 23:23: “Buy the truth and do not sell it—get wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.”

There is still more for me to learn, but I carry far more understanding today than when this journey began.

It has been said that you can often accomplish more outside of elected office than within it—and I intend to prove that true. I will continue to defend the innocent unborn, protect our children from harmful indoctrination, and remind them that they are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).

I will remain engaged in efforts to bring new water solutions to Texas and support innovation in water use, including improvements tied to oil and gas production. I will continue learning about the needs of our schools and advocating for stronger education across our state.

I am encouraged by the incoming Commissioner of Agriculture and look forward to working alongside him to promote Texas agriculture and its products. I will also continue my service on the National Sorghum Producers Board and work to expand markets for sorghum.

There is still much work to be done—and I am grateful for the friendships and partnerships that will continue beyond this campaign. I will stand with those who stood with me.

I did reach out to Representative King the day after the election to congratulate him on his victory. As of March 26, 2026, my call has not been returned. I left a message expressing appreciation for the challenge this race presented. It pushed me in ways I had never experienced and strengthened my faith, my resolve, and my character.

This journey deepened my time in Scripture and my prayer life. I also extend forgiveness to those who spoke untruths about me. That is not the path I choose to walk.

I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve and to love Texas. If you see me around the district, know that I will be striving to love the Lord with all my heart, soul, and mind—and to love my neighbor as myself.

Thank you to everyone who supported me, voted for me, and encouraged me along the way. Sincerely,

S/John Browning A lifelong resident of House District 88
