The Sudan Nettes’ varsity softball team split the season- series with Hale Center on Saturday, dropping game two of the series, 196.
With the loss, the Nettes fall to 3-2 in district play.
Danalei Kelley pitched four innings for the Nettes, giving up 13 hits, six walks and 19 runs, 15 earned, while striking out one batter.
Sudan struck first in the top of the first inning, but Hale Center answered with seven runs in the home-half of the inning to make the score, 7- 2. The Nettes would scratch two more runs across in the second frame, but Hale Center would add four more runs in the bottom half of the inning to extend their lead to, 11-4.
Hale Center kept Sudan scoreless in the third, before adding seven more runs to push their lead to, 18-4. Sudan would plate a run in the fourth and fifth inning, as Hale Center went on to take game two of the series, 19-6.
At the plate, the Nettes tallied 10 hits and three walks as a team. They also recorded 10 stolen bases. Daniella Ramirez led the way for the Nettes with a homerun, a walk and an RBI, while Kyndal Wilson tallied two hits, including a triple and one walk. Lillianna Sanchez chipped in two hits, including a triple, while Scarlett Pool also posted three hits and an RBI, and Reyna Limon added a hit and a walk.
The Nettes were at Abernathy on Tuesday for their first game with the Lady Lopes. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday with a home game against Abernathy.
First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
