The Littlefield Wildcats’varsity baseball team suffered their second loss of the season, falling to the Bushland Falcons on the road, 16-1.
With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 3-2 overall on the season.
Bushland jumped out in front early with six runs in the bottom of the first inning and they added three runs in the third inning to take a, 9-0, lead into the fourth inning.
Littlefield scratched a run across in the top of the fourth, but Bushland answered with seven runs in the bottom half of the fourth to take the runrule victory, 16-1.
Gabe Mata pitched two innings, giving up six hits, one walk and six runs, three earned, while earning one strikeout. Ana Ayala pitched one inning, giving up six hits and seven runs, four earned. Brayden Black pitched one inning, giving up two hits and three runs, while earning two strikeouts.
The Wildcats tallied just one hit and one as a team at the plate.
Dawson Adkins had the Wildcats lone hit of the contest and Jayden Kirkland scored their lone run.
The Wildcats were in action in Wichita Falls this weekend. They will continue their season on March 5th when they host San Jacinto Academy to open the Lamb County Classic.
First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
