The Sudan Hornets’ varsity basketball team fell to Lorenzo on Tuesday, 63-53.
With the loss, the Hornets fall to 6- 11 overall on the year.
Lorenzo jumped out to a, 17- 12, lead in the first quarter, and they outscored Sudan, 15-12, in the second frame to take a, 32- 24, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Out of the break, Lorenzo poured in 12 points in the third quarter, while holding Sudan to just seven, making the score, 44- 31, going into the final quarter of play. In the fourth quarter, Sudan exploded for 22 points, but fell short in their comeback efforts, 63-53.
Aspen Reyher led Sudan in scoring with 19 points, five steals, two rebounds and two assists. He was joined in double- figures scoring by Christian Delgado, who tallied 12 points, three rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Kye Polk chipped in eight points and three rebounds, while Brian Delgado contributed seven points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block, and Haden Provence tallied six points and four rebounds. Dylan Provence added one point and two assists, while Jacob Baker finished with three rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Aaron Moore added one rebound in the contest.
