Wildcats throttle Snyder, 64-36, in season-opener

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team won their season- opener on Tuesday at Snyder, as they took down the Tigers, 6436.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 1-0 overall on the year.

The Wildcats outscored the Tigers, 13-4, in the opening quarter and, 20-13, in the second frame, taking a, 3317, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Littlefield would pour in 14 points in the third quarter to open the second half, pushing their lead to, 47-26, going into the final quarter of play. They netted 17 points in the final frame to take the contest, 64-36.

Jayden Barrio led the Wildcats with 34 points, to go along with seven rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block, while Elijah Rodriguez chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and one assist.

Andrew Davis tallied nine points, three steals, one assist and one rebound, while Chace Coronado contributed four points, five rebounds, two assists and one block, and Nehemiah Beanes chipped in three points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Eron Carrillo added two points, while Zach Trevino finished with 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. Jose Payan added one rebound and one block in the contest.
