Lady Cats fall to Loboettes, 45-40

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team suffered their first loss of the season last Friday on the road against Levelland, 4540 With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 2-1 overall on the year.

It was a tight game through the first half, as Littlefield poured in 13 points in the opening quarter and five points in the second frame, but trailed the Loboettes, 19-18, going into the locker room at halftime.

Levelland would pull away in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Cats, 10-5, making the score, 2923, going into the final quarter of play.

In the final frame, Littlefield would pour in 17 points, but it was not enough for the comeback, as they fell on the road, 45-40.

The Lady Cats were led by Amoni Jefferson who netted 12 points, to go along with eight rebounds, four steals and one assist. She was joined in double-figures scoring by Zalise Davis, who finished with 11 points, five rebounds, three steals, one block and one assist.

Cobi Saldana tallied nine points, two rebounds and one steal, while Abbie Rodriguez added two points and one rebound and Madison Williams chipped in two points, four assists, four steals, three rebounds and one block.

Nia Cleveland contributed two points and seven rebounds, while Maggie McNeese finished with three rebounds and one assist.
