The Sudan Nettes’ varsity softball team was at the Ralls Tournament this past weekend, where they went 3-1 on the weekend.
The Nettes improve to 8-6-1 overall on the year.
In their first game of the tournament on Thursday, the Nettes took down Petersburg, 15-7.
In the circle, Danielle Mitchell pitched 2.1 innings, giving up five hits, two walks and seven runs, two earned, while striking out five batters.
At the plate, Kalissa Harris finished with two hits, one walk and three RBI’s, while Danalei Kelley added a double, a walk and two RBI’s, and Lillianna Sanchez finished with one hit, one walk and three RBI’s. Haylee Toscano tallied a hit, a walk and an RBI, while Andrea Williams chipped in one walk and one RBI and Mitchell and Lupita Toscano each added an RBI in the contest as well.
In their first game on Friday, the Nettes took down Shallowater’s JV, 11-3.
In the circle, Kelley pitched two innings, giving up one walk and three runs, while earning two strikeouts.
At the plate, Mitchell led the way with one hit and three RBI’s, while Haylee Toscano added one hit, one walk and two RBI’s. Harris was walked twice and added one RBI, while Daniella Ramirez tallied a hit, a walk and an RBI.
In their second game on Friday, the Nettes fell to Shallowater’s varsity squad, 23-0.
In the circle, Mitchell pitched 1.1
innings, giving up 12 hits, four walks and 17 runs, 12 earned. Karris pitched 0.2 innings giving up eight hits, one walk and six runs.
At the plate, Haylee Toscano and Reyna Limon-Johnson each drew a walk in the contest.
In their final game of the Ralls Tournament on Saturday, the Nettes took down Crosbyton, 119.
In the circle, Kelley pitched 2.1 innings, giving up five hits, six walks and nine runs, while striking out three batters. Mitchell pitched 0.2 innings giving up one hit, while striking out two batters. At the plate, Ramirez finished with a triple and an RBI, while Williams added two hits including a double and a walk, and Kelley contributed a double, a walk and an RBI. Mitchell drew three walks in the contest and scored once, while Limon-Johnson and Harris each tallied two walks, combining for three runs.
The Nettes were at Morton on Tuesday to take on the Maidens. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Saturday when they host Crosbyton.
First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
