The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity softball team went 3-0 at the Randall Tournament this weekend.
The Lady Cats improve to 5-1 overall on the year.
In their first game on Saturday, the Lady Cats took down Childress, 3-2, behind five hits as a team.
At the plate, Myli Hernandez was 2-3 with a double, while Natalia Sanchez was 1-3 with a three-run homerun and two RBI’s. Alyssa Torres was 1-3 with a double and an RBI, while Maggie McNeese was 1-2 with a double.
In the circle, Sanchez pitched a complete game giving up four hits, one walk and two runs, while striking out eight.
In game two on Saturday, the Lady Cats took down Canadian, 9-7.
At the plate, Bryndle Ray was 2-2 with a walk, two hits including a double and a triple and she scored three runs. Brianna Aleman was 1-3 with a double and an RBI. She also scored a run. Torres was 1-2 including a walk, a double and an RBI. She also scored a run. Tailyn Gomez was 0-2, but had three RBI’s in the contest.
Cali Saldana pitched five innings, giving up seven hits, two walks and seven runs, two earned, while striking out six batters.
In their final game of the tournament on Saturday, the Lady Cats took down Randall’s JV, 15-7.
At the plate, Sanchez 3-3 with two homeruns, four RBI’s and scored two runs, while Aleman was 3-3 with a homerun and four RBI’s, and she scored three runs. Torres was 2-3 three with a double and a triple, three RBI’s and she scored three runs, and Hannah Lopez was 1-2 with a double, two RBI’s and she scored a run. Hernandez was 1-1 with an RBI and a walk, and she scored a run. In the circle, Sanchez threw 3.1 innings, giving up five hits, eight walks, seven runs, six earned, and she struck out three.
The Lady Cats will be at Sundown for a Tournament starting Friday when they take on the host team Roughettes at 9 a.m., followed by a game against Pecos at 10:45 a.m. and then a game against Midland Christian at 2:15 p.m.
Saturday they will take on Tulia at 1 p.m.
