The Sudan Nettes’ varsity softball team competed in the Dimmitt Tournament this past weekend, where they went 2-1-1.
The Nettes improve to 4-5-1 overall on the year.
In their first game on Friday against Dalhart, the contest ended in a, 5-5, tie.
In the circle, Danielle Mitchell pitched three innings, giving up five hits, two walks and five runs, while striking out four.
At the plate, Andrea Williams was 1-2 with a double and an RBI, while Haylee Toscano was also 12 with an RBI. Lillianna Sanchez was 1-1 with a hit and a walk and she scored two runs, while Reyna Limon was 2-2 with an RBI and she also scored a run. Daniella Ramirez was 1-2 and scored a run as well.
In game two of the tournament Friday night against the host team Dimmitt, the Nettes took down the Bobbies, 4-2.
In the circle, Danalei Kelley pitched three innings, giving up three hits and two walks and two runs, one earned, while striking out six.
Ramirez was 1-2 with a homerun and two RBI’s and a run scored, while Toscano was 0-2 with an RBI.
The Nettes returned to action on Saturday against West Texas, falling 9-5.
In the circle, Mitchell pitched 3.1 innings, giving up 12 hits, three walks and nine runs, eight earned, while striking out two.
At the plate, Kalissa Harris was 1-2 with a double, two RBI’s and a run scored, while Reyn Limon-Johnson was 2-2 with a run scored, and Ramirez was 1-2 with a double and an RBI. Haylee Toscano was 1-2 with an RBI and a run scored, while Mitchell was 1-1 with a hit, a walk and a run scored.
In their final game of the tournament Saturday evening, the Nettes took down the Morton Maidens, 10-8.
In the circle, Harris pitched three innings, while giving up five hits, four walks and eight runs, one earned. She struck out four in the contest.
Ramirez was 1-2 with a homerun, a walk and two RBI’s. She also scored twice. Haylee Toscano was 3-3 with two doubles and an RBI. She also scored once. Willimas was 2-2 and scored twice, while Kelley was 1-2 with two RBI’s and Harris was 1-2 with a hit, a walk and two RBI’s. She also scored twice. Mitchell was 1-1 at the plate with a hit, a walk and two RBI’s. She also scored twice.
The Nettes were back in action against Lockney on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will compete in the Ralls Tournament this weekend taking on Petersburg and Slaton on Thursday, Shallowater on Friday and Crosbyton on Saturday.
