Sudan Nettes drop a tight contest to Bushland, 68-65

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team came up just short at home against Bushland on Tuesday, 68- 65.

With the loss the Nettes fall to 11- 7 overall on the year.

Sudan poured in 17 points to open the contest, holding a three- point lead going into quarter number two, but the Lady Falcons would storm back with a 26- point second quarter to take a, 40- 37, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Sudan outscored the Lady Falcons, 18- 16, in the third quarter to make the score, 5655, going into the final quarter of play. Bushland would edge out the Nettes in the fourth quarter, 12-10, to take the contest, 68-65.

Addison Cornelius led the Nettes with 17 points, nine rebounds, four steals and one assist, while Haylee Toscano tallied 14 points, two rebounds and one assist and Lexi Jennings chipped in 14 points, three rebounds and one assist.

Erica Herrera tallied seven points, eight rebounds, three steals and one assist, while Andrea Williams added six points and one rebound, and Kaileigh Greenwalt chipped in three points, one rebound and one steal. Emry Humphreys added two points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal, while Edette Herrera finished with two points, six assists, five steals and one rebound.

The Nettes will be back in action on Dec. 30th to take on the Lubbock Titans in Lubbock.
