Nettes take down Reagan County, 63-46

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team defeated Reagan County on Friday, 63-46, to move to 2-1 at the Tahoka Tournament.

Sudan clung to a four- point lead, 15-11, through the first quarter, but they exploded for 22 points in the second frame, while holding Reagan County to just six points in the quarter, making the score, 37-17, going into the locker room at halftime.

Sudan edged out Reagan County, 17-15, in the third quarter, stretching their lead to, 54- 32, heading into the final quarter of play. In the final frame, Reagan County outscored Sudan, 14-9, but the Nettes held on for the victory, 63-46.

Edette Herrera led the Nettes with 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Addison Cornelius tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals, and Haylee Toscano chipped in 11 points, two steals, one rebound and one assist.

Kaileigh Greenwalt contributed seven points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Emry Humphreys tallied four points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist, and Andrea Williams added two points and five rebounds. Kalissa Harris chipped in two points, two steals and one rebound, while Erica Herrera contributed two points, four rebounds and two steals. Masyn Provence finished with two points, three steals and one assist.

The Nettes will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd when they host the Ropes Lady Eagles.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
