The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team fell at home on Friday to the Levelland Loboettes, 47-34.
With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 1-2 overall on the season.
It was a close game through the first quarter, with Levelland jumping out to a, 13-9, lead, but the Loboettes outscored Littlefield, 10-5, in the second frame to take a, 23-14, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Littlefield tallied six points in the third quarter, but Levelland extended their lead to, 35-20, going into the final quarter of play. In the fourth quarter, Littlefield outscored the Loboettes, 14-12, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit, as they fell at home, 47-34.
Amoni Jefferson led the team with 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block, while Nevaeh Esquibel tallied seven points and three rebounds, and Ari Castillo added four points, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Cali Saldana chipped in three points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists, while Cobi Saldana contributed three points, two steals and one rebound. Nia Cleveland added two points and three rebounds, while Mattie Seymore tallied one rebound and Bri Valdez finished with two rebounds.
The Lady Cats hosted Lubbock High on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season next Tuesday with a road game against Lubbock Cooper Liberty.
Tip-off is slated for 6:15 p.m.
