Wolverines place 2nd at Whiteface Tournament

  • The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team finished as the Runner-ups of the Whiteface Basketball Tournament this weekend. On Thursday, they defeated Lockney, 63-52, and Whiteface, 2919, and on Friday, they defeated Friona, 63-37, before falling in the championship game on Saturday to Plains, 64-48.   • The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team defeated the Blue Ridge Lady Tigers on Saturday, 6124, to take third place in the Roosevelt Tournament this weekend. In pool play on Thursday, the Lady Cats defeated White Deer, 60-23, but they fell to Floydada, 54-50. On Friday, they defeated Tulia, 48-23.
