Nettes topple Vega Tuesday night, 64-43

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team toppled the Vega Lady Horns on Tuesday, 64- 43, in non- district play.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 2-0 overall on the season.

The Nettes outscored Vega, 14-5, in the opening frame, and they added 14 points in the second quarter to take a, 2814, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Sudan had a 19- point outburst to open the second half, and in the fourth quarter they outscored the Lady Horns, 1716, to take the contest, 64- 43. Melo Rodriguez led the team in scoring with a game-high 16 points, to go along with 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Blessy Montes tallied 14 points, five rebounds, four steals, one assist and one block.

Edette Herrera chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds, five steals and two blocks, while Addison Cornelius contributed eight points, eight rebounds and six steals. Emry Humphreys notched four points, four rebounds and three steals, while Kaileigh Greenwalt added four points and six steals.

Arianna Sanchez tallied two points, two rebounds, and one steal, while Haylee Toscano chipped in two points, two rebounds and two steals. Lexi Jennings finished with one points and two rebounds and Brinley Magby added one rebound.

The Nettes were at Anton on Saturday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday with a road game against Whiteface.

Tip- off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
