The Springlake- Earth Lady Wolverines’ cross country team punched their ticket to the State Cross Country Meet on Monday, as they claimed their second consecutive 1A Regional Championship at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
The Lady Wolverines took first place overall with 85 points, edging out fellow state qualifiers Jayton, who finished with 97 and Nazareth, who finished with 107 points.
The Lady Wolverines were led by senior, Taytum Goodman, who clocked an 11: 31.5, to claim her fourth consecutive Regional Championship Gold Medal.
Sophomore, Aabriella Villanueva placed 13th overall, clocking a time of 13:33.9, while junior, Aryca Ibarra, placed 16th with a time of 13:36.5. Senior, Emma Samaron, finished 26th with a time of 14: 08.4, while junior, Rylie Furr, finished 35th with a time of 14:19.4 Freshman, Yareli Cortez finished 56th with a time of 14:52.3, while junior, Marisela Rodriguez finished 98th with a time of 15:59.7.
The Lady Wolverines will be running at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on November third at 10:10 a.m.
