The Sudan Hornets and Nettes’ varsity cross country teams competed at the District 4-2A Cross Country Meet at LCU on Monday, where the Nettes took third place with 77 points and the Hornets took fourth with 83 points.
The Nettes were led by sophomore, Aubrey Lopez, who placed seventh overall with a time of 14:07.
Sophomore, Danyelle Castillo finished 11th overall, clocking a time of 14:37, while sophomore, Isaura Jimenez, finished 16th with a time of 15:12, and sophomore, Lillianna Sanchez, finished 21st with a time of 15:32. Sophomore, Kalissa Harris finished 22nd with a time of 15:36, and junior, Emma Armstrong, finished 29th with a time of 16:24.
The Hornets were led by freshman, Samuel Briseno, who finished 11th overall with a time of 19:04.
Freshman, Brian DelGado finished 13th overall with a time of 19:29, while senior, Alan Flores, finished 14th with a time of 19:33, and freshman, Wyatt Parker, finished 21st overall with a time of 20:44.
Freshman, Christian DelGado finished 31st with a time of 22:16, while freshman, Angel Martinez, finished 39th with a time of 25:03.
The Nettes will be competing at the 2A Regional Meet on Tuesday, Oct. 24th at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
