Border security, tax relief and raises top list For the Texas House and Senate, there is not much daylight between each chamber’s priorities in this year’s legislative session. Leaders say the focus will be on property tax relief, border security and employee raises.

First snow of 2023

Si Beerwinkle, president of the Earth- Springlake Livestock Show, has announced that animals will begin arriving Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Earth Show Barns. Weight cards are due by 6 p.m. Judging for the 2023 annual Earth- Springlake Livestock Show and Premium Sale is set to start Thursday, Jan.

Commissioners hold regular meeting Monday

The Lamb County Commissioner’s Court held their regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 23rd, in the Lamb County Courthouse to discuss a sseven-item agenda. Judge James M. DeLoach called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m. and there was no one present for Public Comment.

Commissioners to meet Monday

A meeting of the Lamb County Commissioners’ Court will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, in the Lamb County Courthouse, where a 7—item agenda will be considered for appropriate action. After the Call to order, the public may request to make a public comment on any of the agenda items.

Earth-Springlake Jr. Livestock Show entires at barn Wednes.

The 2023 Earth-Springlake Junior Livestock Show will begin Wednesday, Jan. 25, when 4-H Club and FFA Chapter members get their animals in place, and have their weights turned by 6 p.m. The show will begin on Thursday, Jan. 26th and continued on Friday, Jan 27.

Staff Sergeant Leah N. Lewis is an Army recruiter, who is new to the Lubbock area. She has nine schools total that she works with and just recently took over Littlefield at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.
