Nathan A. Garcia arrested on four charges, taken into Federal custody

Nathan Alexander Garcia was arrested on July 20, 2022, by the Littlefield Police Department after a nearly four-month-long investigation.

Garcia was arrested on four offenses including Possession of Child Pornography 43.26(d) Penal Code F3; Online Solicitation of a Minor Sexual Conduct 33.02(c) Penal Code F2; Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography 43.26(g) Penal Code F2; Sexual Perf by a Child <14 years Produce/Direct/Promote 43.25(e) Penal Code F2.

Garcia was released on bonds totaling $30,000 in all four cases, on July 30, 2022. On October 6, 2022, he was indicted on all 4 charges by the Lamb County Grand Jury, and each bond was increased to a new total of $215,000. As such, he was re-booked into the Lamb County Jail on October 19, 2022, after having been arrested on the bond increase warrants in New Mexico.

After the State cases were indicted, Littlefield PD and the Lamb County District Attorney’s Office worked with the FBI and US Attorney’s Office to further the investigation. After Garcia was federally indicted, the US Attorney’s Office filed to have him transferred from state custody to federal custody; that was accomplished on January 17, 2023.

As of now, there will be a hold on the state charges while the federal government pursues prosecution of their case.

Lamb County District Attorney Rickie Redman stated, “I have no comment on these cases, as they are still ongoing. I will say, though, that the Lamb County District Attorney’s Office and its law enforcement partners are committed to keeping children safe. We are very thankful for the hard work of the Littlefield Police Department and its Criminal Investigations Division.”
