Littlefield City Council holds regular meeting

The governing body of the City of Littlefield, Texas, met at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the City Council Chambers, 525 Phelps Avenue, for the purpose of considering all matters and related incidents to the City of Littlefield. Mayor Eric Turpen called the meeting to order at 6 p.m.

Olton Sandhills Celebration starts Wednesday

The 43rd annual Olton Sandhills Celebration is set for August 2 through 5. Things will kick off Wednesady, Aug. 2nd, with an Open House at the Cavett Memorial Center from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Hamburgers sponsored by the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association will be served at 6 p.m.

Cotton ranges from 8 to 16 total nodes, with square set remaining near +80%. The heat is responsible for some square loss with fleahoppers taking some as well. I would really be paying attention to fleahoppers as they continue to move in and out of fields.

Amherst to Celebrate 100 Years on July 29

Amherst is gearing up for their annual celebration on Saturday, July 29, 2023. This year the community is celebrating their Centennial. The city has released the schedule for the celebration. The Parade down Main Street will begin at 10 a.m. The Park Celebration will begin at 11 a.m.
