City of Amherst receives $41,059 small community park grant

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission approved more than $20.6 million in local park grants, a near record, to help create and enhance outdoor recreational opportunities. The competitive grants are allocated to local government entities on a 50/50 reimbursement match basis.

SWCD Taking Orders for Windbreak Trees

The Lamb County Soil and Water Conservation is currently taking orders for the Spring Windbreak Tree and other plants sales. There is a variety of trees and other plants available.

LHC asking for help to decorate dining area

Lamb Healthcare Center is wanting to decorate their dining room. LHC needs help from the towns that make up Lamb County, which are Littlefield, Sudan, Olton, Amherst, Spade, Fieldton, Springlake and Earth. LHC is asking residents to submit landscape pictures of their town.
