Highlights from the National Cotton Council Annual Meeting

From February 16 to February 18, the Plains Cotton Growers Inc. delegation voted to approve important regulations impacting the national cotton industry and participated in discussions to continue to improve and enhance the industry at the National Cotton Council Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
Esther Gutierrez was chosen as the Lamb Healthcare Center Employee of the Month for February. Gutierrez is Dr. George’s nurse and has worked for LHC for 10 years. The thing Gutierrez said she likes most about working at LHC is “The closeness of everyone. It feels like family.” ESTHER GUTIERREZ

LHC Hospital Board to meet Tuesday

Lamb County Local Workgroup held a meeting Friday, February 1

Lamb County Local Workgroup held a meeting on February 1st. Roy Thompson addressed the meeting attendees and introduced special guest’s that were present.

The 2023 2024 Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team, capped off their fourth consecutive season as District Champions on Tuesday. They played a seeding game with Floydada on Friday to determine the one and two seed heading into the play-offs.

Commissioners hold regular meeting Monday

The Commissioners Court of Lamb County met in regular session on Monday February 12th, at 11 a.m. at the Lamb County Courthouse to discuss an 11- item agenda. Lamb County Judge James DeLoach called the meeting to order at 11 a.m. The meeting was delayed due to inclement weather.

The Littlefield Independent School District’s Board of Trustees met in regular session on Thursday during lunch to discuss a 15-item agenda. The meeting was called to order at 12 p.m. by Board President Pat Demel and the Invocation was given by Gary Birkelbach.

Burn Ban lifted in Lamb County

Due to the recent snow fall Lamb County Judge James DeLoach is withdrawing the burn ban effective today [Feb. 12]. He stated they will monitor the situation and reinstate the burn ban when it becomes necessary. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Judge DeLoach’s office.
