Lamb County sees increase in COVID cases

Lamb County Judge James M. DeLoach has issued an update on the COVID-19 virus cases in Lamb County, as of 4:33 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020. He reported that there was a jump from the 19 known cases last Tuesday, Oct. 6, to the current 77 active cases that were reported to him over last weekend.

Man dies in crash on US Highway 84

A man from Socorro, Texas, died in a crash on the morning of June 6, 2026.On the morning of the incident, 54-year-old Clodoaldo Faustino Salas traveled northwest on US Highway 84 in a 2017 Freightliner truck-tractor with a semi-trailer attached.

Texas utilizing sterile flies to combat NWS spread

After almost 60 years without a confirmed domestic case, USDA confirmed the first U.S. detection of New World Screwworm (NWS) in South Texas on June 3. Since that time, additional detections have been confirmed in Zavala, LaSalle and Gillespie Counties in Texas, as well as Lea County, New Mexico.
