The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity cross country team competed at the Oil Patch Invitational in Sundown on Saturday where they finished 13th as a team with 396 points. Sophomore, Brandon Marines, led the team finishing 77th, clocking a time of 22:03.76.

Jazmine Rosales finished 77th with a time of 16:28.34, while sophomore, Brinley Acevedo, finished 83rd with a time of 16:45.73, and junior, Lauren Turpen, finished 94th with a time of 17:29.38..

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity cross country team competed at the Oil Patch Invitational in Sundown on Saturday where they finished 15th as a team with 411 points. Sophomore, Harry Amador, led the Mustangs finishing 49th overall with a time of 20:35.55.

Sudan cross country teams compete at Sundown

The Sudan varsity cross country teams competed at the Oil Patch Invitational Cross Country Meet in Sundown on Saturday where the Nettes placed 14th overall with 317 total points. The Hornets did not have enough runners to qualify for the team results.

Mustang rally falls short against Vega, 21-13

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity football team fell short in their comeback efforts on Friday night, as they fell to the Longhorns in Vega, 21-13, for their first loss of the season. With the loss, the Mustangs close out the pre-district schedule with a mark of 4-1.

The Anton Bulldogs gave up 30 unanswered points in the first and second quarters on their way to a 58-32 loss to the Hart Longhorns in UIL high school six-man football action last Friday. Hart led 30-0 midway through the second quarter when Dominic Gaitan found Joe Whillock open for a 15 yard touchdown.

The Olton Fillies varsity cross country team competed at the Oil Patch Invitational on Saturday in Sundown, but did not have enough runners to qualify in the team results. Senior, Kylee Noack, finished 26th overall to lead the Fillies, clocking a time of 15:00.88, while sophomore, Yarely Santillan, finished 44th with a time of 15:42.65.

Hornets win homecoming game over plains, 56-12

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team pushed their winning streak to four games on Friday, as they took down the Plains Cowboys, 56-12, to celebrate Homecoming with a victory. With the win, the Hornets improve to 4-1 overall on the season heading into the bye week.
