The Amherst Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team took down the Morton Indians in Amherst on Friday, 53-49. Amherst netted 14 points in the first quarter and outscored Morton, 9-7, in the second frame to take a, 23-16, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team captured their third consecutive district championship on Tuesday evening when they defeated the Hale Center Lady Owls, 75-43, in Sudan. With the win, the Nettes improve to 20-8 overall, 11-1 in district play.

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team used a big third quarter to pull away from the Muleshoe Mules on Friday, taking the contest on the road, 68-48, in their second meeting of district 3-3A play.
