The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team closed out the regular season with a win on senior night on Friday over the Ralls Jackrabbits, 60-0.With the win, the Hornets improved to 8-2 overall, 4-1 in dsitrict play.

Fillies fall to Forsan in the 2A Area play-offs, 0-3

The Olton Fillies’ varsity volleyball team had their season come to an end on Tuesday night, as they fell to the Forsan Lady Buffaloes, 0-3, in the Class 2A Area Volleyball play-offs at Coronado High School.

Olton Fillies clinch bi-district championship over Highland Park, 3-0

The Olton Fillies’ varsity volleyball team swept the Highland Park Lady Hornets on Saturday at Tulia High School to capture their first Bi-district volleyball championship in 16 years.

Wildcats clip Eagles, 49-28

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team wrapped up their regular season on Friday with a, 49-28, victory over the Roosevelt Eagles on senior night, securing their spot in the play-offs.With the win the Wildcats finish the season 8-2 overall, 2-2 in district play.

The Lamb County Leader-News’ annual football contest just finished up week 10 last week, leaving just two weeks left in this year’s contest.This week, we had six contestants tie for the top spot with a mark of 16-4.

The Littlefield Lady Cats clinched their spot in the play-offs last Saturday, taking down the Childress Lady Cats, 3-2, at Wildcat Gym in Littlefield.With the win, the Lady Cats wrap up district play with a mark of 4-6.

Hornets drop heartbreaker to Hale Center in OT, 34-28

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team lost a slugfest in overtime on Friday to the Hale Center Owls, 34-28, in Sudan.With the loss, the Hornets fall to, 6-2 overall, 2-1 in District play.The Hornets totaled 329 yards of offense, including 272 rushing yards and 57 passing yards.

Noah Villanueva set to represent Wildcats at State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock

Littlefield junior, Noah Villanueva, will be representing Littlefield at the State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock, Tx, on Friday.Villanueva is the first Littlefield cross country runner to advance to the State Meet since 2011.“ It means a lot,” he stated.
