Amherst falls to Kress 54-18

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Kress Lady Roos on Tuesday, 54-18, falling to 0-4 in district play. Kress jumped out to a big lead early and never let up, as they poured in 19 points in each of the first two quarters to take a, 38-8, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Lady Bulldogs drop heartbreaker to Lazbuddie, 22-18

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team dropped a tough contest last week to the Lazbuddie Lady Horns, 22-18. Lazbuddie led Amherst, 4-0, at the end of the first quarter, and took an, 8-2, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Amherst comes up short against Lady Horns, 42-27

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Hart Lady Horns, 42-27, in their first meeting of district play. Hart outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 11-5, in the first quarter, but both teams poured in 10 points in the second frame to make the score, 21-15, in favor of Hart heading into the locker room at halftime.

Wolverines take down Anton 64-42

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team won their first meeting of the season with the Anton Bulldogs on Tuesday, 64-42. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 6-3 overall, 3-0 in district play.

LADY CATS TAKE DOWN BOBBIES, 56-28

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team took down the Dimmitt Bobbies on the road on Tuesday night, 56-28, to improve to 5-5 overall, 4-0 in district play. The Bobbies won the tip-off, as Michelle Ontiveros dropped in a lay-up to open the game for Dimmitt, but on the other end, freshman, Kyndal Edgemon dropped in a lay-up off of the assist from junior guard, Brookelyn Gau, tying the game, 2-2.

Nettes down Seagraves in district-opener, 68-36

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team opened district play on Friday with a home victory over the Seagraves Lady Eagles, 68-36. With the win, the Nettes improve to 7-11 overall, 1-0 in district play.

The 19th ranked Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team won a New Year’s Eve contest over the Muleshoe Mules last Thursday, 73-41. With the win, the Mustangs improve to 11-1 overall on the season In the first quarter, Olton jumped out to a, 25-7, lead behind eight points from Chris Urbina and 14 points from Israel Santillan.
