Wolverines clobber Pringle-Morse, 104-38, to win Bi-district match-up

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team throttled Pringle-Morse Cougars, 104-38, on Tuesday to Claim the 1A Bi-district championship.

With the win, the Wolverines improve to 17-9 overall on the year.

The Wolverines poured in 22 points in the opening quarter, while holding the Cougars to just four points. They outscored the Cougards, 24-18, in the second frame to take a, 46-22, lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Wolverines erupted for 43 points, stretching their lead to, 89-32, going into the final quarter of play. In the fourth quarter, Springlake-Earth outscored Pringle-Morse, 15-6, to take the contest, 10438.

JJ Jaramillo led the Wolverines in scoring with 33 points, to go along with seven steals, five rebounds, one assist and one block. He was joined in double-figures scoring by Isaiah Tovar, who tallied 26 points, eight rebounds, six steals and four assists, and Kaleb Castillo, who chipped in 21 points, one rebound and one assist.

Gavin Gonzalez contributed 10 points, three rebounds and two steals, while Timothy Tovar tallied eight points, seven steals, six rebounds and two assists. Froylan Agundiz added four points, two assists and one steal, whileAlejandro Gonzales finished with two points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists.

The Wolverines battled with Miami on Friday night at Canyon High School for the 1A Area Championship. Results were not available at press time.
