Nettes sweep season series with Ralls

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team took down the Ralls Lady Rabbits on Tuesday on the road, 87-34.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 19-7 overall, 7-3 in district play.

The Nettes came storming out of the gate for 34 points in the first quarter. They outscored the Lady Rabbits, 17-15, in the second frame to take a, 51-21, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Nettes poured in 24 points in the third quarter to take a, 7526, lead into the final quarter, and in the fourth quarter, they outscored Ralls, 12-8, to take the contest, 87-34.

The Nettes were led by Melo Rodriguez, who tallied 23 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals, while Edette Herrera joined her in double-figures scoring with 19 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three assists, and Addison Cornelius tallied 16 points, six rebounds, four steals and one assist.

Blessy Montes contributed 15 points, three steals, two assists and one rebound, while Emry Humphreys tallied four points and five rebounds, and Kaileigh Greenwalt finished with four points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Haylee Toscano finished with four points, five assists, four steals and two rebounds.

The Nettes hosted Sudan on Friday. Results were not available at press time. They will travel to Hale Center on Tuesday to take on the Lady Owls for their second meeting of the season.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
