Dear friends, I pray to find you Blessed and in Good Spirit. And may the Lord fill you with the fullness of Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Luke 2:11) Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.

When Jesus was born, a great company of angels announced His birth. This was the Son of God, After all surely He Deserved a great entrance into this world right? Surely the Heavenly host of angels sang with glorious splendor as they shined bright from the night sky, And surely they sought out the most important people of that time to announce this historical and monumental entrance of the awaited Messiah.

But wait! Who did the angels bring this announcement to?, To religious leaders, to Government officials, to Kings or Rulers?

Nope, they brought the most important news ever to a group of peasant Shepherds. That’s right, Shepherds!

But wait a minute, out of all the important people in the world, why In the world would God send these heavenly angels to bring this Monumental Announcement of the Savior’s birth to some lowly peasant Shepherds!?

Well dear friends, I would propose to you that perhaps God chose to present this news to what the world would consider unimportant lowly Shepherds for this reason To show humanity, that this indeed was the kind of people that He was sending His One and Only Son To redeem. To bring God’s love to lowly people like you and me and to fulfill His plan and purpose through Simple people like you and me! God’s purpose for sending His Son was to restore poor, lowly, disobedient, and sinful people like us back into intimate relationship with Himself!

For this reason He rightly chose to bring the greatest announcement In the history of the world to a few lowly shepherds.

Friends, This world desperately needs God. We all desperately need God, but no matter how hard we try, we can’t get to God Or even please God by our own merit.

The good news of Christmas is that God came to us wrapped in human flesh. That in His Son Jesus, The hope of this world Would be fulfilled. You see, Jesus came to do what we could never do ourselves. He came to save us from the penalty of sin and death. He did this by taking all of our sin upon His shoulders and nailing them to the cross once and for all. That if we confess Jesus is Lord And believe in your heart that God rose Him from the dead we shall be saved. (Romans 10:9-11) Let us pray. Father, in all the busyness of the season, Help us not get stressed or worried about the things that matter least. Instead, Let our focus remain in the one true gift That truly satisfies the soul Now and for Eternity. Amen & Amen (John:3:16-17) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
