Dear Editor: MORE DUMPED DOGS!

Four of five dogs dumped on our county road west of Littlefield again. Healthy dogs not emancipated starving dogs. These dogs were someone’s pets, well cared for and discarded with no care for their survival.

The survival rate of these discarded dogs is zero. They face elements they have never faced before, the weather, the coyotes, the highways, angry homeowners and farmers, and starvation because they have never had to forge for food.

Less then one percent of these discarded animals might be turned into the homeowner’s pets. Hardly ever are these animals welcome into our lives or our homes.

It is not that we are heartless to these dogs and cats that show up on our property, ion the middle of the night. We have animals of our won that we cannot even get them food and water because er are afraid. I cannot even walk my indoor dog.

I know what it is like to be attacked by a homeless dog. I have the scars to prove it.

Dumping animals and leaving them to die or negligence is a misdemeanor crime in Texas.

It is a disgusting practice to discard a pet and there is no end in sight.

I repeat the survival rate for these animals is zero. /S/ Linda Williams A conderned local homeowner
