LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

DITOR Dear editor and readers, This letter is written on behalf of Littlefield Cemetery Association, also known as the Old Cemetery.

Statements have been mailed to the members and as now response has been good. If you mailed a check or made a donation, we thank you.

Apparently, some wonder what we do. We try our best to maintain the cemetery. That means mowing, weed eating, taking care of the roads and selling some cemetery lots.

Your dues are used solely for the cemetery up keep, mowing, weed eating, some labor expenses for tractor work on mowing, repair sometimes. We recently had some costly repairs on the tractor.

Without your help we could do nothing, as we get no help from the city or elsewhere. The cemetery can’t grow up in weeds as it did not many years ago! We can do better. We lose members every year and most of us are well older than we once were. If you have the desire to go and work, please do so, anytime.

Donations can be made at any time as can memorial donations and acknowledgment cards are sent.

You can be a member for a one time payment of $1, annual dues are $25 per member per year.

As summer ends, we can be proud of the work done out there this year.

Thank you for your time and your help.
