To the Patrons of Littlefield ISD: It is hard to believe we are completing our third week of school! Kudos to our teachers and students for getting right back into the groove of school from day one. With us finishing week three, it is imperative that you as a parent continue to talk with your child(ren) about staying on top of their school work. Progress reports will be going out on Thursday, September 8. If you have any questions regarding your child(ren’s) education, please feel free to contact their principal at your convenience. We are here to serve!

We have begun the demolition process of the softball field. It is amazing how fast they removed the turf, fence, and lights. We will be using the rock they have stored on the current facility. Once everything is completed at our current softball facility, Parkhill will come in and have a survey done of the entire layout. In the meantime, Ms. Hays and the High School Facility Committee made up of teachers, parents, and students has been meeting with Parkhill in regards to certain designs of the new school. The new High School will be a two story building that will be state of the art! We plan on breaking ground on the new high school in March of 2023. As we get closer to the date, I will keep you informed of the actual date and time of this monumental day. This is a reminder that our softball field will be located next to our baseball complex and will be first class. I am excited to have both fields located in close proximity of each other. A special “ Thanks” to Lamb County Sheriff’s Department and Gary Maddox for donating this land for our new softball field. YOU ARE APPRECIATED!

Regarding our existing High School, once the new High School is built and our students are able to occupy the building, Parkhill will begin the renovation/addition of new classrooms and bringing current classrooms up to code. Once the renovation/addition is completed, this will become our New Junior High campus for our students. Again, this facility will be first class! The Elementary and Primary will be adding “Maker-Spaces” to each specific campus. A maker-space is an area that provides hands on, creative ways to encourage students to design, build, experiment and become innovative as they engage in science, technology, engineering, and math. The timeline regarding the construction of the new High School will run from March of 2023 to December of 2024. Our goal is to have all construction completed by August of 2025. With that being said, it will be an outstanding day in Littlefield, Texas once all of the projects are completed.

We will be out of school on Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day. School will resume at regular time on Tuesday.

Proud to be a WILDCAT!
