Easter Isn’t Over ...

This past weekend I enjoyed one of the greatest Easter celebrations of my life. Our family had a wonderful time together on Good Friday. We read scriptures and had fellowship with friends. On Saturday we reflected on the silence of it all. We talked about God’s perfect timing and about patience in the midst of trials. On Sunday we watched our boys open eggs of candy and treats. We put on nice clothes and went to church with hundreds of others. We celebrated the greatest event in history through worship and the word of God.

But the celebration doesn’t end on Monday. We don’t take a break from it until next year. In fact, as Christians we should celebrate the resurrection daily. You see, Easter isn’t about eggs and wearing pastel colors. That’s all fine, but that isn’t what Easter is about. It’s about Jesus wanting a relationship with you. Jesus was born to die—and to rise again. And on the cross, Jesus took the wrath of God upon Himself. He bore all the sin of the world, including your sins and mine, by dying in our place. And he did because He loves us and wanted to create a way for us to God.

Easter is for everyone–the devastated, discouraged, disappointed, and doubting. And Eater is for all-time, it’s not just something we should celebrate one weekend a year. So, feel free to put up your decorations, but don’t stop celebrating the Resurrection. It is worth celebrating for all eternity, which is exactly what we get to do in Christ. Love You all!

Love You all!
