Virginia Rangel Esquibel, 72, of Littlefield entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 in Lubbock. She was born July 2, 1948 in Littlefield to Leonardo and Elvira (Alvarez)

Virginia married Gilbert Esquibel on Nov. 5, 1982. Together they enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and exercising. Virginia liked working in her yard, gardening and tending to her flowers, especially her rose bushes. She loved sunflowers and butterflies. She was a very cheery and giving person, who didn’t like confrontation. She encouraged her family to pray for everyone, even your enemies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Virginia was a catholic, and a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield.

She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Esquibel of Littlefield; four sons, Juan Robles, Glbert Esquibel III, David Esquibel and Julian Esquibel all of Littlefield; two daughters, Laura Esquibel of Stephenville and Luz Esquibel Escalante and husband, Nick of Michigan; nineteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four brothers, Ricardo Montoya of Kerrville, David Rangel ofAmherst, Fred Rangel of Levelland, and Manuel Montoya of Michigan; four sisters, Margaret Aguilera of Michigan, Rachel Cueto of Amherst, Linda Montoya of Sudan and Eva Montoya of New Mexico; and many other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Victor Esquibel; her parent; and three sisters, Guadalupe Montoya Ceja, Dora Cavillo and Mary Vasquez.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Father Angelo Consemino officiating. As per the Catholic Diocese orders, kindly respect social distancing and wear a mask to attend. Rosary services were held at 6 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
