San Juanita Castillo, lovingly known as Momma, Aunt Juanita, Grandma, and Sister, passed away, in New Braunfels, Texas on Sept. 12, 2026.
Juanita was born on July 28,1952, in Lubbock, Texas, to Juan Samaniego and Victoria Samaniego Garcia. In 1973, she married the love of her life, Atilano Castillo, Jr., in Littlefield, Texas. Together, they shared 54 years of marriage and spent 22 years living in Amarillo, Texas, building a life centered around their family, ministry, and the love they shared.
Juanita’s faith in God was at the center of her life. She and Junior spent many years serving together in children's ministry at Victory Church in Amarillo, Texas, and later spent nine years with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Serving God and loving people was an important part of the life they shared together.
Juanita was a loving and strong woman who would do anything for her family. She loved people deeply, remained close to her family, and treasured the relationships she shared with those she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Atilano Castillo, Jr.; her daughter, Amy Elaine Dellinger, and her husband, Dan; her grandchildren, Christopher and Cy Dellinger; her sisters, Becky Eckelberger and her husband, Gerald, and Luisa Samaniego; her nieces, Vicki Casarez and her husband, Frank, and Jessica Perez and her husband, Paul; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Ciera, Samantha, Koby, Rhyli, Paul, Lucas, andKaliana.
She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Samaniego, and her mother, Victoria Samaniego Garcia.
Juanita leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, love, and family. Her life touched generations, and the love she gave will continue through everyone who knew her.
She will forever be Momma, Aunt Juanita, Grandma and Sister—deeply loved, forever remembered, and missed beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Oaks in New Braunfels. Burial followed in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
